I'm personally not a fan of having this included, but as it happens, the service I received overall deserved the charge. Highly recommend the hot smoked salmon (went back for more of that baby!) The hotel is very modern and the bathroom amazing -- wet room shower and massive bath perfect for bump. Poor experience overall and probably won't be going back. Would I return again? We had a delicious meal from their prixe fix menu which was a fabulous deal with large portions. However when we ordered our dessert it arrived and we waited for our cutlery to arrive. I had read that there was a set menu on offer, but was not permitted to have this as it was meant for hotel guests only.Starter: Fritto MistroA selection of seafood in a light batter, with courgette slices, also in batter.
After last weekends fiasco (see review on the smokehouse) I figured I ought to readdress the balance. The staff were friendly and the maitre d' responded very quickly to an observation about the cleanliness of the ladies toilet.
The desserts were spot on as well.

Went to malmaison today for 'four course lunch', usual price is £19:95 I think, but managed to get a voucher £29:99 for two of tinter-web. Stayed here for a weekend away in Liverpool, it’s a very well decorated and comfortable hotel. Absolutely loved this experience, we were well looked after by Kevin and the crew. I told them it was my partners birthday and we were treated no differently service was appalling starter took at least half an hour to come out and it was just bread and oil - I asked 3 times for a glass of water and never got one until meal meal came when I pretty much had to beg for one - steaks were terrible - the sweet waitress knew I was not happy as she kept repeatedly asking me if I liked my meal overall I paid £80 for a meal that was not up to scratch at all this restaurant is nothing like they have advertised I felt like I ruined my boyfriends birthday by going here I’m so disappointed.
