International travel law states that as soon as an airline cancels the flight, the money must be paid out to the customer immediately. All they do is sell tickets, nothing more. I was a long time user of Orbitz, but recently I made a reservation the usual way and after I paid for the reservation, I saw they charged an almost $45.00 'booking fee'. Finally I got the refund after few weeks but no refund from Orbitz charge. I spoke to a woman who assured me that she would file a complaint and somebody would get back up with me. It's bs. Thanks Jasmin, i will mever use orbit because of you. I was advised by the orbits agent that my account would be credited back within 48 hours which never happened. It had been closed for years! Customer service is horrid.... the lady on the phone just tells you to hold on for 40 minutes on a simple change. If Orbitz doesn't know any better in advance that this is the way this place runs they shouldn't be using them on their website as an option. The last two times I had to chat them I was on there for a few hours just to get help. Not only that, but he outright cancelled my flight without setting me up for e-credits. This place is a nightmare, they're frauds and scam artists. Just horrid. Even though my booking was non-refundable, they are giving Covid related cancellations a refund if the Hotel approves. I asked to speak to a supervisor and I was put on hold for 2 hours until I finally hung up with my blood boiling. Use Expedia. I promptly called the hotel myself. I used Orbitz for the first and last time today. The booking process is generally easy. LEWIS CENTER, OHIO -- I will never book with Orbitz again!!! We said no way, making the understandable assumption that Orbitz would refund our hotel stay portion of our vacation, and booked a separate adult only resort. After this experience, I will only work directly with the airline. I've spent hours on the phone trying to resolve issues, I have jerked around for 1 month now. Because the agent had technical issue, she let me wait 30 minutes on the phone. Well our connecting flight got changed to be an hour and a half earlier and we were going to miss our connector by an hour. If only all customer services is like her, the world will be a better place. There is no flights to seattle or spokane until 26th of June. That my ticket wasnt confirmed ?? Am going to tell everyone not to book with you? However, Orbitz told me that they only can give me credit of Asiana airline. While I was talking to Orbitz I checked online at United and there was no record of me.
Poor Customer Support. Arrived on 4 August due to a flight issue and the (all adult) resort I booked at was closed - the resort did not get clearance from Jamaica govt to open re their COVID rules. We are still waiting and now Orbitz says we will only get a hotel coupon, breaking their agreement with us for a full refund. So i was so confused that why i cannot get a money refund because when i called to Asiana airline, they told me that they can give me full refund of my ticket, but because of i bought through Orbitz, i need to talk with Orbitz team.
I have done business with Orbitz for a number of years. When I found out the flight wasn't cancelled, I contacted customer service on Facebook and chatted with them for more than 6 hours with ZERO outcome. That's not "business." I've been on hold for an hour and a half now and am getting ready to hang up.I tried to use the chat option online and was told it will be 18 minutes....yeah right.What a screwed up agency!!!! ** then proceeded to spend about an hour and half looking for another flight. I had the itinerary sitting in front of me.
Nobody answers on the phone, waited 2hours yesterday, 1h 2 days ago and 3h today. Should Orbitz treat customer like that? They don’t solve anything. Again it took a couple of minutes to regain composure and lower the blood pressure. 5 days later I hadn't heard from anybody so I called again and filed another complaint with someone else, never heard from her either. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, I use Orbitz a fair amount. I don't want a credit for a future flight that I won't take. What is really upsetting me right now is the past week and a half I have NOT BEEN ABLE TO CHANGE MY FLIGHT ONLINE - which I NEVER had a problem before. Orbitz was happy to take my money within seconds but, when I cancelled, told me it would take up to 30 days to process payment and on at least one occasion tell me I needed to contact the foreign hotel to resolve the refund. We had our honeymoon booked for Italy on Aer Lingus through Orbitz - May 2020. I became so frustrated with the call after being put on hold for the 3rd or 4th time that I hung up and tried calling again. I tried several times.
