I'd definitely have liked to see them work together, finding a middle ground between the over-the-top humor of BL2 and the darker tone of BL1 would've been amazing. I don't think Anthony Burch is writing this one, which is sad because he did an amazing job with BL2. Let alone Borderlands 3. I completely agree, they should’ve gotten Anthony Burch to write this story as well. They could have added more to there history and really made something good out of it but they just come off as edgelord brats that didnt get there way. People were odd, not chartoonish goofballs (Crazy Earl owns a waterwheel on a tropical island?!?!?!). The story was one of the elephants in the room (along with all the coop glitches) near the end I said “this story is terrible” on a cut scene and my other half agreed. I really hope they push things further while taking the best from the previous games. I think it’s just a case of having to do so much in little time as well as the story moving to a larger and grander scale. BL3 taught me to lower my expectations with later entries in the franchise if im gonna be honest. And then Lilith kills herself in one of the most blatant “mcguffin” scenes I’ve EVER encountered in my life. And that really can’t be argued. The first two games were much more tongue-in-cheek and everything was just sarcastic and played up for humor (which was actually written to be funny), whereas this game tries reeeeallly hard (and fails) to tell a “cool” story and then also forces a metric ton of lame, super obvious jokes into the mix. Speaking of enemies: where are they? Mordecai definitely makes more than one appearance, though. your saying all the char form bl2 never notice a cuilt taking over the plant or the other worlds and didn’t know of them to around the event of this game. I know that BL never really made much sense and had lots of “its space magic, ain’t gotta explain ■■■■” moments, but at least the other games didn’t take themselves this seriously. Those are interesting, like Typhon’s logs, but they’re not the same as having unique things to look for. it would given them the time to expand the story fill in a lot of blanks and make up for a lot. Maybe though they should have clarified that is part of a bigger story so people didnt get mad at every new release.

I have to agree with some of the points here. the story that was set up for bl3 in the presequal was total inored as if it never happen. almost snarkily as if to say; "F**k no.".
