I've had my original Foodsaver vacuum / thermal seal unit for a little over 2 yrs., it began to (apparently) fail to vacuum air from my bags (heat-sealed fine though) so after a couple hrs of trying to figure out if there was something I was doing wrong (I cleaned moisture trough and inspected seal gaskets) I just gave in and purchased a second (newer generation) Foodsaver unit.
If there seems to be no trouble with the operation of the appliance or if success is spotty, check to make sure there are no pinpoint holes in either the plastic roll or the sealing bags. It also sucks out every drop of moisture and space of air, allowing fresher foods and longer-lasting results.
My issue is it just won’t seal the bag on one area right in the middle of the bag.

Do I need a new gasket even though this one appears to be fine? it is as if the hose is no longer attached.
